Target Information
RALA is a multifunctional GTPase involved in various cellular processes including gene expression, cell migration, proliferation, oncogenic transformation, and membrane trafficking. It interacts with distinct downstream effectors and acts as a GTP sensor for GTP-dependent exocytosis. RALA plays a crucial role in cytokinesis by tethering the exocyst to the cytokinetic furrow, regulates integrin-dependent membrane raft exocytosis, and affects LPAR1 signaling by competing with GRK2. It is essential for anchorage-independent proliferation of transformed cells.
