Target Information
ICT1 is an essential peptidyl-tRNA hydrolase component of the mitochondrial large ribosomal subunit.
Acts as a codon-independent translation release factor lacking stop codon specificity, directing translation termination in mitochondria, possibly during abortive elongation.
May participate in hydrolysis of prematurely terminated peptidyl-tRNAs and recycling of stalled mitochondrial ribosomes.
