Target Information
The 90 kDa heat shock protein (HSP90) family of molecular chaperones is a highly conserved group of proteins involved in essential physiological processes. HSP90 is known for its role in signal transduction and association with multiple cellular components.
TRAP1, a homolog of HSP90, is associated with diverse proteins and localized in the mitochondria of mammalian cells. The presence of a mitochondrial targeting presequence indicates that TRAP1 functions as a mitochondrial matrix protein.
