Antibody detects endogenous levels of total Cytochrome c Oxidase 3.
Target Information
COX3 is a multi-pass membrane protein belonging to the cytochrome c oxidase subunit 3 family.
Defects in COX3 are associated with Leber hereditary optic neuropathy (LHON) and cytochrome c oxidase deficiency (COX deficiency).
Mutations in MT-CO3 are also linked to mitochondrial encephalomyopathy with lactic acidosis and stroke-like episodes (MELAS) syndrome, as well as recurrent myoglobinuria.
