Target Information
Interleukin 6 receptor (IL6R), also known as CD126, is a type I cytokine receptor that forms part of the IL-6 receptor complex. It regulates cell growth, differentiation, and immune response. The receptor consists of IL6R and IL6 signal transducer (IL6ST/GP130). Dysregulated IL6/IL6R signaling is associated with diseases such as multiple myeloma, autoimmune disorders, and prostate cancer. Alternative splicing variants and a pseudogene on chromosome 9 have been reported.
