Target Information
CXCL16 is a member of the CXC chemokine family that signals through the CXCR6 receptor. It plays a role in attracting lymphocyte subsets during inflammation and may facilitate immune responses.
The CXCL16 protein consists of 273 amino acids, including:
- A 29 amino acid cytoplasmic domain
- A transmembrane region (~20 amino acids)
- An extracellular domain with a chemokine region and mucin-like stalk sequence
The extracellular domain contains 89 amino acids (86 for the murine homolog).
