The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by epitope-specific affinity chromatography. The purity is greater than 96% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
This gene is one of seven beta-1,4-galactosyltransferase (beta4GalT) genes encoding type II membrane-bound glycoproteins with specificity for UDP-galactose. These enzymes transfer galactose in a beta1,4 linkage to acceptor sugars such as GlcNAc, Glc, and Xyl. Each beta4GalT plays a distinct role in glycoconjugate biosynthesis and saccharide structure formation.
The B4GALT5 gene, previously known as B4GALT4, encodes an enzyme whose precise function remains unclear. It is also referred to as beta4GalT2 in the literature.
