TLR4 (Toll-like receptor 4)는 병원체 인식과 선천 면역 활성화에 핵심적인 역할을 하는 수용체로, Drosophila부터 인간까지 보존된 TLR 계열의 구성원입니다.
이 수용체는 주로 태반과 백혈구의 myelomonocytic 세포에서 발현되며, LPS(lipopolysaccharide)에 의해 활성화됩니다.
TLR4는 CD14, LY96과 함께 LPS 수용체 복합체를 형성하여 그람음성균의 LPS에 반응하는 신호전달을 매개합니다.
