Antibody detects endogenous levels of total PDZD2.
Target Information
Proteins containing PDZ domains frequently bind the C-termini of transmembrane receptors or ion channels. They can also interact with other PDZ domain proteins and may be involved in intracellular signaling.
The PDZD2 gene encodes a protein with six PDZ domains, sharing sequence similarity with pro-interleukin-16 (pro-IL-16). Like pro-IL-16, it localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum and is thought to be cleaved by a caspase to produce a secreted peptide containing two PDZ domains.
Additionally, PDZD2 is upregulated in primary prostate tumors and may play a role in early prostate tumorigenesis.
