Target Information
The PPM1G gene encodes a member of the PP2C family of Ser/Thr protein phosphatases, known as negative regulators of cell stress response pathways.
This phosphatase dephosphorylates pre-mRNA splicing factors, essential for spliceosome formation.
Mouse studies suggest a role in cell cycle regulation.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been described.
