Target Information
ROCK1 is a serine/threonine kinase that regulates cell differentiation and migration.
The Rho/ROCK pathway is involved in the progression of various human cancers.
ROCK1 has been identified as a Caspase-3 substrate. It contributes to myosin light chain (MLC) activation through direct phosphorylation and inhibition of MLC phosphatase.
During apoptosis, ROCK1 is cleaved by caspase-3, removing its inhibitory domain and resulting in constitutive kinase activity.
This activation leads to MLC phosphorylation and membrane blebbing, key events in the execution phase of apoptosis.
