Target Information
Rattin은 rat에서 발견된 새로운 유전자이며, Humanin과 상동성을 가지는 분비형 펩타이드를 암호화합니다. 이 펩타이드는 베타-아밀로이드(Ab)에 의해 유도되는 신경세포 사멸이나 조기 발병 가족성 알츠하이머병 관련 돌연변이에 의한 세포 사멸을 방지하는 보호 작용을 나타냅니다. Rattin은 Humanin과 유사한 새로운 펩타이드 군의 원형으로, Ab뿐 아니라 흥분성 신경세포 사멸로부터도 보호하는 활성을 보입니다. Rat Rattin 유전자는 38개의 아미노산으로 구성된 펩타이드를 암호화하며, Humanin보다 15개의 잔기가 더 많고 보존 영역에서 73%의 동일성을 보입니다.
