Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the four-and-a-half-LIM-only protein family. Members of this family contain two highly conserved, tandemly arranged zinc finger domains, each binding a zinc atom through four conserved cysteines. The protein is thought to play a role in extracellular membrane assembly. It is down-regulated during the transformation of normal myoblasts to rhabdomyosarcoma cells and may function as a link between presenilin-2 and intracellular signaling pathways. Multiple alternatively spliced variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
