Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
This gene encodes a protein highly expressed in cardiac and skeletal muscle. Mutations in this gene are associated with several clinical disorders, including Barth syndrome, dilated cardiomyopathy, hypertrophic DCM, endocardial fibroelastosis, and left ventricular noncompaction. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described. The short isoform lacks a hydrophobic leader sequence and may exist as a cytoplasmic protein rather than being membrane-bound. Other alternatively spliced transcripts have been described, though their full-length structures are not fully characterized.
