Target Information
HTR2B is a G-protein coupled receptor for 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin). It acts as a receptor for various ergot alkaloid derivatives and psychoactive substances. Ligand binding induces conformational changes that activate G-protein signaling, modulating downstream effectors.
HTR2B also contributes to pain perception, behavioral regulation, and normal proliferation of embryonic cardiac myocytes, essential for heart development.
