This antibody detects endogenous levels of total PTPN13 protein.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family, which regulates cellular processes such as growth, differentiation, mitotic cycle, and oncogenic transformation. PTPN13 is a large intracellular protein with a catalytic PTP domain at the C-terminus, five PDZ domains, and a FERM domain that interacts with plasma membrane and cytoskeletal elements.
It interacts with and dephosphorylates Fas receptor and IκBα through PDZ domains, suggesting a role in Fas-mediated apoptosis. PTPN13 also interacts with GTPase-activating proteins, indicating involvement in Rho signaling regulation. Four alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct proteins have been identified.
