Target Information
GOT1 is a glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase, a pyridoxal phosphate-dependent enzyme that exists in cytoplasmic (GOT1) and mitochondrial (GOT2) forms. GOT plays a role in amino acid metabolism and in the urea and tricarboxylic acid cycles. Both enzymes are homodimeric and show close homology.
