  • ABS 047-17-02 binds free canine NGAL.
  • No cross-reactivity with human, mouse, or rat.
  • Can be used as a capture antibody in a sandwich ELISA with biotinylated detection antibody ABS 047-14-02.
  • Detection limit: 5 pg/mL in an unoptimized buffer assay.
  • Concentration may vary by lot (0.85–1.15 mg/mL).

Target Information

NGAL (Neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin, also known as lipocalin 2, siderocalin, or neutrophil lipocalin) is a 25 kDa glycosylated monomer of the lipocalin family that binds and transports small lipophilic molecules. It is released by activated neutrophils and can form dimers or higher oligomers, as well as complexes with matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP-9, gelatinase B).
Low-level NGAL expression in various epithelia may increase during inflammation or cancer. Expression in the kidney is markedly elevated by ischemic or nephrotoxic injury.
