Target Information
GRP78 (78 kDa glucose regulated protein)은 HSP70 계열의 heat shock protein으로, 주로 소포체(ER)에 존재하며 새로 합성된 분비 및 막 단백질들과 일시적으로 결합합니다. 변형되거나 잘못 접힌 단백질과 상호 작용하여 분해를 유도하며, C-말단의 Lys-Asp-Glu-Leu (KDEL) 서열을 통해 ER 내 단백질 재순환에 관여합니다.
GRP78은 세포 항상성 유지 및 세포사멸 억제에 필수적이며, 저혈당의 신뢰성 있는 바이오마커로 알려져 있습니다. 또한 신경세포에서 산화 스트레스에 대한 보호 기능을 가지며, Alzheimer’s Disease 환자 뇌에서 GRP78 발현이 감소하는 것으로 보고되었습니다. GRP78 유도는 항암제 내성과 관련이 있습니다.
