Target Information
The MYBPC2 gene encodes the fast-type isoform of myosin-binding protein C, part of a family including fast-, slow-, and cardiac-type isoforms. These myosin-associated proteins are located in the C region of A bands in striated muscle.
Mutations in related genes are associated with disorders such as distal arthrogryposis type 1 and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
MYBPC2-related diseases include Lethal Congenital Contracture Syndrome 4 and Nemaline Myopathy 9.
