Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene shows strong similarity to Saccharomyces cerevisiae Cdc45, an essential protein required for the initiation of DNA replication. Cdc45 is part of a conserved multiprotein complex with Cdc6/Cdc18, minichromosome maintenance proteins (MCMs), and DNA polymerase, which are crucial for early steps of DNA replication in eukaryotes. It interacts with MCM7 and DNA polymerase alpha, and studies in Xenopus suggest it plays a role in loading DNA polymerase alpha onto chromatin. Multiple polyadenylation sites have been reported.
