Target Information
CLIP170 was initially identified as a new type of intermediate filament-associated protein highly expressed in Reed-Sternberg cells, diagnostic for Hodgkin’s disease. It is located at microtubule plus ends and is required for endocytic carrier vesicle binding.
CLIP170 interacts with LIS1 to regulate dynein/dynactin binding to microtubules and may influence lamellipodia formation and cell invasion in invasive breast cancer cells by regulating kinesin and IQGAP1 release from a protein complex.
At least two isoforms of CLIP170 are known.
