Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
The small G protein GDP dissociation stimulator (smg GDS) is a regulator protein with two activities on small G proteins including the Rho and Rap1 families and Ki-Ras: stimulating GDP/GTP exchange reactions and inhibiting membrane interactions.
The protein encoded by this gene contains nine Armadillo repeats and interacts with smg GDS through these repeats. It is concentrated around the endoplasmic reticulum and phosphorylated by v-src, which reduces its affinity for smg GDS.
This protein likely serves as a linker between human chromosome-associated polypeptide (HCAP) and KIF3A/B, a kinesin superfamily protein in the nucleus, playing a role in chromosome–ATPase motor protein interactions.
Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
