NBR1 단백질은 난소암에서 처음 확인된 종양 항원으로, B-box/coiled-coil 모티프를 포함하고 있습니다. 이 단백질은 선택적 오토파지 수용체로 작용하여 퍼옥시좀의 선택적 오토파지적 분해를 매개하며, 유비퀴틴화된 오토파지 기질과 함께 세포 내 포함체를 형성합니다.
해당 유전자는 BRCA1 종양 억제 유전자 근처인 염색체 17q21.1 영역에 위치하며, 대체 스플라이싱을 통해 여러 전사 변형체를 생성합니다.
