BACE1 (Beta-secretase 1)은 아스파르틸 프로테아제 계열의 단백질로, 알츠하이머병의 주요 병리학적 특징인 amyloid β peptide 형성의 첫 번째 단계를 촉매합니다. 본 항체는 인간 BACE1의 Ser498 인산화 부위를 표적하는 rabbit polyclonal antibody입니다.

Predominantly localized to the later Golgi/trans-Golgi network (TGN) and minimally detectable in the early Golgi compartments. A small portion is also found in the endoplasmic reticulum, endosomes, and on the cell surface (PubMed:17425515, PubMed:11466313).
Colocalization with APP in early endosomes is due to addition of bisecting N-acetylglucosamine which blocks targeting to late endosomes and lysosomes (By similarity). Retrogradly transported from endosomes.
