C2 클론은 ISOBM TD-2 워크숍에서 특성화되었으며, K. Nustad에 의해 human alpha fetoprotein의 6개 주요 epitope 중 그룹 E로 분류되었습니다. Human alpha fetoprotein은 70 kDa의 oncofetal 단백질로, 태아 간에서 발현되며 정상 성인 조직에서는 존재하지 않습니다. 모든 yolk sac 종양, 일부 germ cell 종양 및 간세포암에서 양성 반응을 보입니다.
Target Information
AFP (Alpha Fetoprotein)은 태아기 동안 난황낭, 장관 및 간에서 생성되는 주요 혈장 단백질입니다. 성인에서 AFP 발현은 간암(hepatoma)이나 기형종(teratoma)과 관련이 있습니다. AFP는 혈청 알부민의 태아형으로 간주되며, 두 유전자는 염색체 4에 인접하게 존재합니다. AFP는 단량체, 이합체, 삼합체 형태로 존재하며, 구리, 니켈 이온, 지방산 및 빌리루빈과 결합할 수 있습니다. 양수 내 AFP 농도는 척추이분증 및 무뇌증 선별에 사용되며, 혈청 AFP 농도 상승은 간세포암, 기형종, 대장암, 췌장암 및 생식세포종양 환자에서 관찰됩니다.
