Product Specific Information

Human blood group A antigen belongs to a group of carbohydrate determinants carried on both glycolipids and glycoproteins; it is detected on erythrocytes and certain epithelial cells.
The antibody HE-195 recognizes human blood group A including weak variants A3, AX, A3B, AXB.
The specificity of antibody HE-195 was confirmed by comparison of specificity and reactivity to standard reagent using more than 5,000 blood samples.
Agglutination test: A1, A1B, A2B.

Target Information

Blood-group antigens are molecules formed by sequential addition of saccharides to the carbohydrate side chains of lipids and proteins detected on erythrocytes and certain epithelial cells.
The A, B, and H antigens may undergo modulation during malignant cellular transformation.
Blood group-related antigens represent carbohydrate determinants carried on both glycolipids and glycoproteins, typically mucin-type, and detected on erythrocytes, certain epithelial cells, and in secretions.
Sixteen genetically and biosynthetically distinct but inter-related specificities belong to this group, including A, B, H, Lewis A, Lewis B, Lewis X, Lewis Y, and precursor type 1 chain antigens.
