Target Information
GLD2 is a cytoplasmic poly(A) RNA polymerase that adds successive AMP monomers to the 3′-end of specific RNAs, forming a poly(A) tail. Unlike canonical nuclear poly(A) RNA polymerase, GLD2 selectively adds poly(A) to specific cytoplasmic mRNAs and does not participate in replication-dependent histone mRNA degradation.
