Target Information
The IRS2 (Insulin Receptor Substrate 2) gene encodes a cytoplasmic signaling molecule that mediates the effects of insulin, insulin-like growth factor 1, and other cytokines. It acts as a molecular adaptor between receptor tyrosine kinases and downstream effectors. The protein is phosphorylated by insulin receptor tyrosine kinase upon stimulation and by an interleukin-4 receptor-associated kinase in response to IL4 treatment.
