The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
Huntingtin disease, a neurodegenerative disorder, is caused by the expansion of a polymorphic glutamine tract in huntingtin. Huntingtin Interacting Protein 1 (HIP1) is a proapoptotic, cargo-specific adaptor protein implicated in the pathogenesis of Huntington’s disease. HIP1 is also involved in clathrin coat recruitment to lipid membranes and may contribute to tumorigenesis by promoting the survival of precancerous and cancerous cells. Its expression is significantly associated with prostate and colon cancer metastasis, making it a potential prognostic marker for these cancers.
