THAP6 (THAP domain-containing protein 6)은 222개의 아미노산으로 구성된 단백질로, 하나의 THAP-type zinc finger를 포함하며 두 가지 대체 스플라이싱 아이소폼으로 존재합니다. 이 유전자는 약 36,528 염기쌍으로 구성되어 있으며 인간 염색체 4q21.1에 위치합니다. 염색체 4는 인간 게놈의 약 6%를 차지하며 약 900개의 유전자를 포함합니다. Huntington 유전자는 Huntington 병과 관련된 확장된 글루타민 트랙을 암호화하며, FGFR-3 유전자는 염색체 4에 위치하고 있으며 다양한 유전 질환(thanatophoric dwarfism, achondroplasia, Muenke syndrome, bladder cancer)과 관련이 있습니다. 또한 염색체 4는 Ellis-van Creveld syndrome, methylmalonic acidemia, polycystic kidney disease와도 연관되어 있습니다.
