THAP6 유전자는 약 36,528 염기로 구성되어 있으며 인간 염색체 4q21.1에 위치합니다. 염색체 4는 인간 게놈의 약 6%를 차지하며 약 900개의 유전자를 포함합니다.
해당 염색체에는 Huntington’s disease와 관련된 Huntingtin 유전자, FGFR-3 (thanatophoric dwarfism, achondroplasia, Muenke syndrome, bladder cancer 관련), Ellis-van Creveld syndrome, methylmalonic acidemia, polycystic kidney disease 관련 유전자도 위치합니다.
