This antibody has specificity for Human Glutamine Synthetase (GLUL).


Target Information

Glutamine synthetase (GS) is an enzyme involved in ammonia incorporation in animals through the actions of glutamate dehydrogenase and glutamine synthetase. Glutamate serves as both a nitrogen donor and acceptor, playing a central role in mammalian nitrogen metabolism and neurotransmitter regulation.
GS activity is regulated by adenylylation and is known to decrease in the cerebral cortex of Alzheimer’s disease patients and under glucose deprivation conditions.
