This peptide corresponds to amino acids near the amino terminus of human PHAP.
PEP-0143 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-20024.


Target Information

Apoptosis is related to many diseases and developmental processes. Caspase-9 plays a central role in cell death induced by various apoptosis activators.
Cytochrome c, after release from mitochondria, binds to Apaf-1 to form an apoptosome, which subsequently activates procaspase-9.
Activated caspase-9 then cleaves and activates effector caspases (caspase-3, -6, and -7), responsible for proteolytic cleavage of key apoptosis-related proteins.
PHAP (Putative HLA-DR-associated proteins) are identified as important regulators of mitochondrial apoptosis. PHAP facilitates apoptosome-mediated caspase-9 activation and stimulates the mitochondrial apoptotic pathway, while opposing Ras- and Myc-mediated cell transformation.
