DPY30는 MLL1/MLL 복합체의 일부로서, 히스톤 H3의 Lys-4 메틸화(특히 트리메틸화)에 관여합니다. H3 Lys-4 메틸화는 전사 활성화를 위한 에피제네틱 태그로 작용합니다. 또한 히스톤 H3 아세틸화에도 일부 역할을 할 수 있습니다.
테라토카르시노마 세포에서 레티노산 유도 신경 분화에 중요한 역할을 하며, 주요 발달 유전자 좌위에서 H3 Lys-4 메틸화를 조절합니다. 또한 엔도솜 수송 과정에 직접 또는 간접적으로 관여할 수 있습니다.
