Target Information
MSH5 is a member of the mutS family of proteins involved in DNA mismatch repair and meiotic recombination. It is homologous to a Saccharomyces cerevisiae protein that contributes to meiotic segregation fidelity and crossing-over. MSH5 forms heterooligomers with mutS homolog 4. Alternative splicing results in four transcript variants encoding three different isoforms.
