- Recommended positive controls: rat brain, IMR32
- IHC notes: Requires antigen retrieval using heat-mediated 10 mM Citrate buffer (pH 6.0) or Tris-EDTA buffer (pH 8.0)
- Store product as a concentrated solution. Centrifuge briefly prior to opening the vial.
Target Information
Neurofilaments are intermediate filament proteins found specifically in neurons and composed predominantly of three major proteins: NF-L, NF-M, and NF-H. NF-H plays an important role in mature axons and is involved in the maintenance of neuronal caliber. Expression of neuronal IFPs is tissue-specific and developmentally regulated. NF-H has also been implicated in neurodegenerative diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
