Target Information
Component of the Polycomb group (PcG) multiprotein BCOR complex, required to maintain the transcriptionally repressive state of certain genes such as BCL6 and CDKN1A.
Acts as a transcriptional repressor possibly targeted to DNA by BCL6, related to PKC signaling pathway.
Represses CDKN1A expression by binding to its promoter, dependent on the retinoic acid response element (RARE).
Promotes cell cycle progression and proliferation; may contribute to tumor growth by down-regulating CDKN1A.
Also part of a PcG PRC1-like complex that mediates monoubiquitination of histone H2A (Lys-119), leading to heritable chromatin modification and gene repression.
