Target Information
ALDH1A1은 aldehyde dehydrogenase 단백질 패밀리에 속하며, 알코올 대사의 주요 산화 경로에서 두 번째 효소로 작용합니다. 이 효소는 간에서 cytosolic 및 mitochondrial 두 가지 주요 isoform으로 존재하며, 전기영동 이동도, 효소 특성, 세포 내 위치에 따라 구분됩니다. 대부분의 백인은 두 isozyme을 모두 가지지만, 약 50%의 동양인은 mitochondrial isozyme이 결여되어 있습니다. 이러한 차이는 동양인에서 급성 알코올 중독 빈도가 높은 원인 중 하나로 보고됩니다.
