Target Information
Laminins are extracellular matrix glycoproteins that form a major noncollagenous component of basement membranes. They are involved in processes such as cell adhesion, differentiation, migration, signaling, neurite outgrowth, and metastasis. Laminins consist of three non-identical chains (alpha, beta, gamma; formerly A, B1, and B2) forming a cruciform structure.
Defects in the LMNB1 gene can cause Leukodystrophy, demyelinating, autosomal dominant, adult-onset (ADLD).
