Target Information

Taste perception involves integral membrane proteins such as T1R (sweet taste) and T2R (bitter taste). Both receptor types couple to various G proteins to initiate signal transduction cascades.
TAS2R1 is expressed in subsets of taste receptor cells of the tongue and palate epithelium, exclusively in gustducin-positive cells.
