Target Information
OPRD1 (Opioid Receptor Delta 1) is involved in the regulation of anxiety, depression, and pain. It is considered a promising target for therapies addressing mood disorders and drug addiction.
Delta and kappa opioid receptors can form heterodimers, functioning synergistically.
OPRD1 expression is primarily found in the brain—high levels in the cortex, caudate, hippocampus, nucleus accumbens, and putamen; low levels in the cerebellum, hypothalamus, substantia nigra, and thalamus.
Reduced expression has been observed in the putamen and amygdala of Alzheimer’s patients and in the putamen in Parkinson’s disease.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
