Target Information
The nuclear pore complex is a large structure spanning the nuclear envelope that regulates the transport of macromolecules between the nucleus and cytoplasm.
Nucleoporins are the main components of this complex in eukaryotic cells.
The protein encoded by the NUP50 gene is an FG-repeat containing nucleoporin that functions as a soluble cofactor in importin-alpha:beta-mediated nuclear protein import.
Pseudogenes are found on chromosomes 5, 6, and 14, and two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
