Target Information
DAAM1 (Disheveled-associated activator of morphogenesis 1) is a diaphanous-related formin that binds Disheveled and plays a key role in planar cell polarity signaling in Xenopus. It regulates actin filament nucleation and elongation through its FH2 domain and is controlled by RhoA signaling. DAAM1 is involved in neuronal development and gastrulation processes. Structurally, it includes GTPase-binding (GBD), diaphanous inhibitory (DID), coiled-coil, FH1, FH2, and diaphanous auto-regulatory (DAD) domains. The human DAAM1 gene is located on chromosome 14q23.1.
