Target Information
KCNK3 encodes a member of the superfamily of potassium channel proteins containing two pore-forming P domains. The gene product functions as an outwardly rectifying potassium channel sensitive to extracellular pH and inhibited by acidification. It is also known as an acid-sensitive potassium channel and can be activated by anesthetics such as halothane and isoflurane. Although multiple transcripts are detected, sequence confirmation for variants is not yet available.
