ADAMTS5 (A Disintegrin And Metalloproteinase with Thrombospondin-5 motif), also known as Implantin or Aggrecanase 2, is part of the ADAMTS family of metalloproteinases containing thrombospondin repeats. It is expressed in human and mouse tissues including heart, lung, cervix, uterus, ovary, brain, and cartilage, and has been associated with peri-implantation processes and arthritic synovium.
