Target Information
Ribosomes are organelles that catalyze protein synthesis, consisting of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit, composed of 4 RNA species and approximately 80 distinct proteins.
This gene encodes a ribosomal protein component of the 60S subunit, belonging to the L1P family, located in the cytoplasm.
Expression is downregulated in the thymus by cyclosporin-A (CsA), and in neural precursor cells during development in mice.
Previously referred to as NEDD6, it has been renamed RPL10A.
Multiple processed pseudogenes of this gene are dispersed throughout the genome.
