Target Information
UBE2T is involved in the covalent conjugation of ubiquitin to proteins and regulates diverse cellular pathways. Ubiquitin is transferred to target proteins through the coordinated action of ubiquitin-activating (E1), ubiquitin-conjugating (E2, such as UBE2T), and ubiquitin ligase (E3) enzymes.
UBE2T catalyzes the covalent attachment of ubiquitin to substrates, participates in mitomycin-C (MMC)-induced DNA repair, and monoubiquitinates FANCD2, a key step in the DNA damage response pathway.
Defects in the UBE2T gene are associated with Fanconi anemia, complementation group T.
