Target Information

DNAJA2 belongs to the evolutionarily conserved DNAJ/HSP40 protein family, which regulates molecular chaperone activity by stimulating ATPase activity.
DNAJ proteins typically contain three domains:

• A conserved 70-amino acid J domain at the N-terminus
• A glycine/phenylalanine (G/F)-rich region
• A cysteine-rich domain with four zinc finger-like motifs

The DNAJA2 protein functions as a cochaperone of Hsp70s, assisting in protein folding and mitochondrial protein import in vitro.
