PAK6는 testis와 prostate에서 발현되는 serine/threonine kinase로, estrogen 및 androgen 수용체와 결합합니다.
PAK 단백질군은 Cdc42 및 Rac의 활성형과 결합하는 serine-threonine kinase로, 두 그룹으로 나뉩니다.
- Group 1 (PAK1, 2, 3): Cdc42/Rac 결합에 의해 활성화되며, 유전자 전사, 세포사멸, 세포 형태 및 이동성 조절에 관여합니다.
- Group 2 (PAK4, 5, 6): Cdc42/Rac 결합으로는 활성화되지 않으며, MAP kinase kinase 6 및 p38 MAP kinase에 의해 활성화되는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
따라서 PAK6는 스트레스 관련 신호에 대한 세포 반응 조절에 관여할 가능성이 있습니다.
